Michael Kirkham
Michael grew up in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. After studying Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, he lived and worked in London, before returning to Edinburgh to set up home with his girlfriend and new baby.
In 2006 Michael won the D&AD ‘Best New Blood’ award. This was followed by the Association of Illustrator’s ‘New Talent’ Gold award in 2007 and a nomination for the 2007 Arts Foundation Prize which seeks to support young talent across a range of creative disciplines.
Michael’s shrewd thinking and assured line work, in a gentle graphic approach, creates a coherent, consistent and unique style of illustration that transcends any fleeting concerns of fashion.
