Since graduating from The Royal College of Art in London, Shonagh Rae has worked prolifically for a wide range of clients. Her work reflects her enjoyment of printmaking and has retained a raw energy and spontaneity despite now being largely composed digitally, a working medium that doesn’t often suggest the random. Her fine blend of photography, stencils, printing, drawing and mark making is distilled to an intuitive and intelligent visual language, that never sacrifices communication to picture making imperatives. The energy and quality of the mark making works cohesively with the composition to create striking and succinct visual ideas. Her work appears regularly in the national and international press as well as in design and advertising commissions.
