Michelle Mildenberg Lara is an illustrator from Bogotá, now living in Amsterdam. Michelle studied for her BA in Design at University of Los Andes in Bogotá, followed by an MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins in London, and an MA in Moving Image at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. Michelle teaches on a remote basis at University of Los Andes.
Michelle works digitally, with a focus on figurative drawing. Her particular interests lie in history and social sciences with a focus on the representation of women and the multiple ways to embody or be identified as a woman, as well as the pursuit of non-hegemonic cultures.
Her clients include UNESCO, The New York Times, The New Yorker, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, Refinery29, VANS, Make a Wish Foundation.
