Tim Enthoven’s artworks are all hand drawn in a graphic style with considerable attention to detail. The realism makes the work seem familiar but the structure of the artworks draw the viewer in only to expose an idea that contradicts any assumptions. Tim’s work is often uncomfortably funny, holding up a surreal mirror to everyday life. Tim has worked prolifically for many international magazines and newspapers, most notably for The New York Times for which he has created several covers for the magazine and supplements. He has also produced book covers, film posters and the advertising campaign for the theatre company Het Zuidelijk Toneel. Alongside his illustration career Tim has exhibited drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations extensively across Europe and the US in a fine art context.
