Tom Gauld is a cartoonist and illustrator. He creates a weekly cartoon for The Guardian, and for New Scientist. Tom has published six books with Drawn & Quarterly; two graphic novels ‘Mooncop’ and ‘Goliath’ plus four compendiums of his comics which have won Eisner awards for Best Humour Publication. Tom’s first book for children ‘The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess’ was voted one of The New York Times and New York Public Library’s Best Illustrated Children Books and has gone on to be translated in over fifteen languages.
Tom has worked on campaigns for the Alzheimer’s Society, packaging for Diet Coke, created permanent installations at Bart’s Hospital and the identity of Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre, the site of a Stone Age Settlement. He has illustrated several covers for The New Yorker and he has worked on editorial and publishing commissions for clients such as Eye magazine, The Economist, Wired, The New York Times, Penguin, Canongate Books and Random House.
Other clients include The Royal Mail, Apple, Hitachi, Google, Fedrigoni, and EMI.
