Mooncop, written and illustrated by Tom and published by Drawn & Quarterly in 2016.
The graphic novel tells the story of a cop filing crime reports on a Moon with a diminishing population. Lunar policing isn’t as exciting as might have been imagined. A girl runs away from home, a dog escapes his lead, an automaton wanders off from the Museum of the Moon. Each day the Mooncop goes to work, life gets a little quieter and a little lonelier.
Mooncop has been nominated in the’Best Artist/Writer’ and ‘Best Graphic Album’ categories of the Eisner Awards, Comic-Con International San Diego. It has been translated into Russian, Spanish and French.
